British politician, Robert Walpole became the Prime Minister in 1721. He was a very significant figure in the British political space for several decades. He was the First Lord of the Treasury for over two decades, a position he served for more than the assigned duration. He was arguably the most influential British politician during his time.

Was Robert Walpole A Good Prime Minister?
Robert Walpole was one of the best British Prime Ministers of his century. During his time, he was able to avoid the South Sea financial crisis that plagued the Commons. He sustained power for the Whig Party and established Downing Street as the home of the Prime Minister, and also won favor with the Crown and negotiated with great skills and panache.
However, he became annoying after he served for more than two decades in power. He was then charged with corruption and expelled from the House of Commons.
