Peter Ostrum is an American veterinary doctor who used to be a child actor as far back as the 1970s.
Born on November 1, 1957, in Texas, United States, Ostrum is known for appearing as Charlie Bucket in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, at a time when he was only in the sixth grade.

Afterwards, he signed up for a three-film contract and later began speaking to schoolchildren about the film.
Ostrum is a veterinarian, with animal interest born out of his love for horses. He holds a Doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
