Indian filmmaker and screenwriter Abhilash Joshiy is the director of Indian gangster movie King of Kotha.

Joshiy was born in 1952 and mainly directs Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films; and well known for creating action dramas in Bollywood.

Joshiy’s first film was the 1978 film Tiger Salim and since then has recorded series of successful films in the Malayalam film industry.

Some of his notable works include Kaahalam (1981), Raktham (1981), Aarambham (1982) and Kodumkattu (1983).

Joshiy is married to Sindhu, and has been blessed with a son, Abhilash, and a daughter, Aishwarya, who died in 2011.

Joshiy’s son, Abhilash, is married to Varsha.

King of Kotha (KOK) is a gangster film produced in Indian Malayalam-language, and stars Dulquer Salmaan, Shabeer Kallarakkal, Gokul Suresh and Aishwarya Lekshmi in lead roles.

King of Kotha was first announced in 2021 and portrays Dulquer Salmaan as a gangster.

The film will be released on August 20, 2023.
