How are Sam Smith and Lily Allen related?

English singer and actress, Lily Allen and popular singer, Sam Smith, are not related in any way. Allen has shared on several occasions that, speculations that she is Smith’s cousin is completely hilarious and wrong.

“Sam is not my cousin. It’s absolute rubbish. It’s a lie. I haven’t looked into it closely enough to see if it’s true but if it is, I’ve never heard about it and the only people who have ever mentioned it to me heard about it online,” she said.

Lily’s brother, Alfie Allen later went ahead to tweet that, it will be amazing if he discovers Smith is really their cousin.

“Oh. Maybe we are then. I like Sam Smith and his music, he’s great. But why did it only come out when Sam was famous? I don’t know. You’d have to  ask Lily,” he wrote.

According to sources, there is no close connection between the two celebrities, and that people are just trying to ‘cook’ up stories.
