Woody Allen Wife: Who is Soon-Yi Previn?

Soon-Yi Previn is the wife of Woody Allen an American filmmaker, actor, and comedian who has been in the entertainment industry for more than six decades.

She was born in Korea and is the adopted daughter of actress Mia Farrow and musician André Previn.

Soon-Yi Previn and Allen’s relationship began when he ended his 10-year relationship with Farrow when Previn was 21. Their romance made national headlines in 1992.

On August 17, 1992, Allen declared his love for Previn in a statement.  “I only knew he loved me when he gave the press conference and said it publicly,” Previn said of his declaration. I wasn’t sure if he meant it even then. We’d never spoken those words to each other before.”

When Previn’s relationship with Allen became public in August 1992, it sparked “tabloid headlines and late-night monologues.”

On December 22, 1997, Previn and Allen married in Venice; she was 26 and he was 61.  They have two daughters who they adopted together. The Previn-Allens live in Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Woody Allen described his relationship with Previn as a “fling” that grew into a more serious one. However, Previn stated in a 2018 interview, “From the first kiss, I was a goner and loved him.”
