What Happened to Amadou Onana?

The disciplinary committee of the Professional Football league gave its verdict on the sanctions to come. Amadou Onana entered in the 75th minute of the match on the 13th day of Ligue 1 against SCO Angers, then left after receiving a direct red card in added time (90th +8) and receives a suspension match.

Soon after the team returned to the hotel after the game, the federation released an official statement saying Onana was temporarily suspended for disciplinary reasons, with the federation offering its full support to the head coach to preserve discipline and cohesion within the national team.

On May 18, 2022, Onana was named to the squad for the four 2022-23 UEFA Nations League matches on 3,8,10 and 13 June 2022, against Netherlands, Poland and Wales respectively.

Onana made his full international debut against the Netherlands on June 3, 2022.
