What makes Torrey Pines so difficult?

Torrey Pines is very difficult because of the extraordinary length, narrow fairways, deep rough, punishing bunkers and multi-tiered greens which makes a very tough layout.

The 612-yard par-5 13th hole at Torrey Pines South Course proved to be the toughest for the average player. Torrey Pines’ South Course is also playing way harder than the North Course.

Torrey Pines Golf Course’s South Course was redesigned in 2001 by Rees Jones in preparation for the 2008 U.S. Open. It is now 7,698 yards with a par of 72.
