Kenya Barris is an American television writer, producer, and director who is known for creating and producing several popular television shows, including “Black-ish” and “Grown-ish.”

Kenya Barris did not write the script for the 1988 film “Coming to America.” The film was written by David Sheffield and Barry W. Blaustein, and directed by John Landis.

However, Kenya Barris wrote the script for the  “Coming to America sequel, which was directed by Craig Brewer.

The sequel explores Prince Akeem’s return to America as the King of Zamunda and is expected to be a continuation of the original story.

Aside from working onComing to America, Kenya Barris has had a successful career in television and film.

He has created and produced several popular television shows, including “Black-ish,” which premiered in 2014 and ran for seven seasons, and its spin-off “Grown-ish,” which premiered in 2018 and is currently in its fourth season.
