Nickesh Jhala is a spectator who accused British former boxer, David Haye of assaulting and threatening to kill him. However, the case was dismissed in favor of Haye in court. The former sportsman was accused of assault halfway through Paul Chowdry’s comedy set at Hammersmith Apollo in London on 30 October 2021.

“He leans down to me, starts speaking into my ear, and puts his hand around my throat. He said to me, ‘Say one more word and I am going to kill you.’ I felt threatened and I was shaking,” he told the court.
CCTV footage showed that Haye stepped over Jhala’s seat and bent over to talk to him. Haye retorted that he did not put his hand on him as claimed.
“Our unequivocal cases is ‘hand on shoulder’ at most, and no threats to kill, ever,” Haye’s prosecutor, James Scobie said in his defense.
