Reed Hastings is an American billionaire businessman who is the co-founder and CEO of Netflix. He owns about 2% of Netflix, which went public in 2002. He initially owned 70%.

After selling his first company, Pure Software, to Rational Software, Hastings co-founded Netflix in 1997. He will step down as co-CEO in January 2023.

The video-streaming service has 222 million members worldwide and offers TV shows and films, as well as original content.

Netflix, headquartered in Los Gatos, California, has amassed a library of 100,000 titles and more than 100 million subscribers.
