Dani Alves has been remanded into police custody after being accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a nightclub.

The alleged assault is said to have happened on December 30, 2022, in a nightclub in the Catalan Capital. Spanish corps detained Dani Alves and put him before the court for questioning following the woman’s complaints.

Dani Alves has admitted that he had been at Sutton on December 30, when the said assault occurred but denied any wrongdoing during questioning.

Alves protested his innocence in a Spanish TV interview after a court confirmed it had opened a formal investigation, insisting that he did not know who the lady is. He said, “I don’t know her name, I don’t know her, I’ve never seen her in my life”.
