Emil Ruusuvuori is a professional tennis player, who currently holds the record as the number 1 singles tennis player in Finland.

Born on April 2, 1999, Emil began playing at a very early age, and has formerly ranked world number 4 on the ITF combined junior rankings.

In 2022, he achieved a career high of world number 41 in the ATP singles ranking and world number 179 in the doubles ranking.

He won the ITF Junior Masters in 2017, the same year he reached quarterfinals at the Australian Open boys’ singles, and semifinals at the US Open boys’ singles.

Emil has also represented his country at the Davis Cup, and has played at the Italian Open, the Miami Open, the Australian Open, the French Open, the Citi Open, the Stockholm Open, BMW Open, and the Erste Bank Open.

Emil lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas at the 2022 Stockholm Open, after sailing through the semifinals.

However, in the same year, he defeated Metz champion Lorenzo Sonego at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, and ended the year as world number 40.
