Denys Monastyrsky was a Ukrainian lawyer and politician who served as Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs from 16 July 2021 to his death on 18 January 2023.

Denys Monastyrsky died Wednesday, 18 January 2023, in a helicopter crash near the capital that killed at least 14 people, including other officials and three children, authorities said.
Denys Monastyrsky was born on June 12, 1980, in Khmelnytskyi. He graduated from the Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law’s Faculty of Law. He had a law degree.
Monastyrsky began his legal career in 2007. He also served as an associate professor at Khmelnytskyi University of Management and Law, where he directed the department of lawmaking and scientific expertise.

Denys Monastyrsky was a co-founder of the Podolia Youth Cultural Association “Into the Future through Culture” and a member of its board of directors.
Monastyrsky worked as an assistant consultant to Anton Herashchenko from 2014 to 2019.
He was appointed as Ukraine’s Minister of Internal Affairs from 16 July 2021 to his death on 18 January 2023. As the Interior Minister, he oversaw Ukraine’s police and emergency services,
