Jim Schwartz is an American football coach. Jim Schwartz never played in the NFL.

However, Jim Schwartz was a four-year letterman at linebacker for the Georgetown Hoyas, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics.

At Georgetown, he was named Distinguished Economics Graduate and received numerous honours in 1988, including Division III CoSIDA/GTE Academic All-America, All-America, and team captain.

In the mid-1990s, Schwartz began his NFL career doing research for Bill Belichick on the Cleveland Browns’ staff. From 2001 to 2008, Schwartz was the Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator.

Jim Schwartz was considered for several NFL head coaching positions during his time with Tennessee. In 2005, he was a candidate for the head coaching job with the San Francisco 49ers, but the job went to Mike Nolan.

He interviewed for head coaching positions with the Washington Redskins, Miami Dolphins, and Atlanta Falcons in January 2008.

Jim Schwartz was hired as the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator by coach Doug Pederson on January 19, 2016.

He lead the Eagles to his and the Eagles’ first Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl LII. On April 7, 2021, the Tennessee Titans hired Schwartz as a senior defensive assistant.
