Taggart gained fame as one of the famous DJ duo, The Chainsmokers alongside Alex Pall. They made their breakthrough with their single, #Selfie, which reached the number one spot on Dance/ Electronic Song Chart.

He studied music business at Syracuse University, New York. During this period, he did his internship in music at the age of 15, when he was in Argentina.

He met Alex Pall in 2012 and started making indie music remixes.

They won the Dance Artist of the Year and the Dance Album of the Year honours at the 2018 ‘iHeartRadio Music Awards’. The remix of the song ‘Something Just Like This’ was named the ‘Best Remix’ at WDM Radio in 2018.
