Born on May 1, 1987, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil, Raoni began grappling at age 5 under the guidance of his father. He went on and turned pro in 2012.

So far, he has fought under the Web Fight Combat, Shooto Brazil, and Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) and has been a featherweight champion three times.
The five-time Brazilian national wrestling champion, faced Victor Henry on January 22, 2022 at UFC 270, but he lost the fight via unanimous decision.
He also faced Trevin Jones on October 1, 2022 at UFC Fight Night: Dern vs. Yan, and won the fight this time around by unanimous decision.
Raoni’s Mixed martial arts record shows a total of 17 wins and 4 losses.
