Evel Knievel made more than 300 jumps during his career. Knievel’s last jump was held in 2011 in Coachella, California where he jumped 150 feet (46 m) over tractor-trailer trucks.

Evel Knievel was an American stunt performer and entertainer. The American motorcycle daredevil captivated audiences with his death-defying stunts.

Growing up in Butte, Montana, Knievel had a tumultuous youth and was often arrested for stealing hubcaps and motorcycles. However, this led to a passion for motorcycle riding and he began performing stunts in his early 20s.

Evel Knievel, in search of adventure, participated in professional rodeos and ski jumping competitions, even winning the Northern Rocky Mountain Ski Association Class A Men’s ski jumping championship in 1959. He then enlisted in the United States Army in the late 1950s.

Over the course of his career, Evel Knievel attempted more than 75 ramp-to-ramp motorcycle jumps and suffered numerous injuries, including broken bones. Evel Knievel had a toy line and a movie made about him, “Viva Knievel!”.
