Where Is Richard Glossip Now? Is Richard Glossip Still Alive?

American prisoner, Richard Glossip is currently alive, however, he is on death row at Oklahoma State Penitentiary. He was convicted of commissioning the 1997 murder of Barry Van Treese. His execution has been delayed 7 times.

Governor of Oklahoma, Kevin Stitt issued a new reprieve on November 2, 2022, stating that, Richard Glossip’s execution date which was scheduled to happen on December 8, 2022, will be delayed “to allow time for the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals to address pending legal proceedings.”

Glossip is currently facing his eighth execution date which was announced on January 2, 2023. He once shared what it feels like knowing that he has a limited amount of time to be alive.

“One side of the cell is covered in bright lights that never go off, like you are out in the sun. You are watched by cameras as well as a guard who sits outside your door 24/7,” he shared.

According to sources, as his execution gets closer, an actor was dressed in a prison uniform into the death chamber, strap him onto the gurney and then role-play the execution procedure from start to finish.

“I could see everything. I could have stayed in the back of the cell and tried not to watch, but I didn’t because I knew I was next,” Richard Glossip said.
