Canadian actress, Rachel McAdams was offered the role of Andy Sachs in the movie “The Devil Wears Prada” but she turned down the role three times. After the last rejection, the role went to Anne Hathaway who accepted it happily.

The film’s director, David Frankel, shared that they wanted an established actor for the role and it looked like Rachel McAdams fitted perfectly but she rejected the offer. Therefore, they reached out to Anne Hathaway.

We started negotiating with Anne Hathaway to make a deal and that didn’t go well with the studio. We offered it to Rachel McAdams three times. The studio was determined to have her, she was determined not to do it,” he said.

He also shared that other actresses including Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, and Scarlett Johnson were also considered. However, Anne Hathaway had to campaign to convince the studio executives that she was the right choice for the role.
