Donald Blom Wife: Was Donald Blom Married?

Amy Blom was the wife of Donald Blom an American convicted of Katie Poirier’s murder in 1999. It is unknown whether they were still married at the time of his death.

Donald Blom died in the state’s maximum security prison at Oak Park Heights on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.

According to department spokesman Aaron Swanum, his death was “an expected natural causes death due to illness.”

Blom began serving his prison sentence at MCF-Oak Park Heights, a maximum-security facility in Stillwater, Minnesota, in 2021.

He had previously spent approximately four years at medium-security prison MCF-Faribault after being transferred there from maximum-security facility SCI Greene in Pennsylvania.

During his trial, his wife Amy Blom testified that he was home in Richfield the night that Katie Poirier disappeared from a Moose Lake convenience store last year.

She said Blom went to bed with her about an hour after coming home around 9:30 p.m. He was gone when she woke up, but she said the coffee pot was on and that she believed he had been with her the entire night.
