Jack Hayford was an American author, Pentecostal minister, and The King’s University (formerly The King’s College and Seminary) Chancellor Emeritus.

Pastor Jack Hayford and his late wife Anna Marie Smith had four children (Rebecca, Jack III, Mark, and Christa). He also had 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Pastor Jack died in his home in the San Fernando Valley of Los Angeles, California, on January 8, 2023. He was 88 years old at the time.
His family said he died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of the morning, after eating dinner with his wife, Valarie, and speaking to one of his grandchildren the night before.

Jack Hayford was formerly the senior pastor of The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, California, one of the Foursquare denomination’s flagship churches, and the fourth President of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel.
He was well-known for his involvement in the Promise Keepers movement and as a prolific author and songwriter, having written over 600 hymns and choruses.
Jack Hayford wrote the popular 1978 hymn “Majesty,” which is ranked as one of the top 100 contemporary hymns and is performed and sung in churches around the world.
