At the University of Georgia, Will Muschamp coaches safeties and serves as co-defensive coordinator. Will Muschamp, a former Georgia defensive back, became a senior analyst with the defense on Kirby Smart’s staff in January 2021. Early in the 2021 season, he began working with special teams as well as the defensive backfield on the field. In December of that same year, he was named Co-Defensive Coordinator.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart disclosed the hiring of Will Muschamp as a defensive analyst on February 3, 2021. Smart claimed that Will Muschamp will assist the defense and “teach the coaches”. However, Scott Cochran, the previous special team’s coordinator, resigned due to health issues prior to the start of the 2021 season, and Will Muschamp took over in his place.
