Wendy Duan (Teacher) Killed: What Happened To Wendy Duan?

Wendy Duan, a third grade reading and language arts teacher at Boone Elementary School in Houston has been found dead.

Duan, a 28-years-old Texas teacher who was named the 2021 “Teacher of the Year” at her elementary school was found dead behind her house on Saturday , Jan. 7, 2023.

What happened to Wendy Duan? Police suspect that she was a victim of domestic violence.

Tony Thomas, her neighbor told ABC13 that he heard “four very distinct gunshots.”

In his narration to the channel, Thomas said, “It was quite scary at the moment, so I dropped everything I was doing, came outside.”

Who Was Wendy Duan?

Wendy Duan was a third grade teacher who taught reading and language arts at Boone Elementary School in Houston.

She was named the school’s teacher of the year in 2021.

After winning the award, she posted on her Facebook page:

“I still can’t believe that I won ESL teacher of the year lol The whole time I kept telling people that there’s no way that I would win, especially going against other teachers who have been teaching way longer than I have.

“Thanks to the people who believed in me and voted for me!”

She mostly posted photos of her students on her Twitter account as well as her fellow teachers.

She was very happy about her job and she will be sorely missed.
