Tardif who also holds French citizenship, won two Nationale A League titles, and the Charles Ramsay Trophy four times in France.
He became the league’s top scorer and later served as Vice President and coach for the Dragons de Rouen.
Tardif has been head of the hockey for the French Ice Sports Federation for six years, during which he established the French Ice Hockey Federation (FFHG).
Tardif was president of the FFHG for 15 years and succeeded in moving the French Cup final to Paris.
He was also part of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee at the 2014 Olympics and 2018 Winter Games.
In 2021, Tardif emerged as president of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), after previously serving as IIHF treasurer, and finance committee chairman.
