Sam Fenech Crash: Death At Willowbank Raceway

A horrific race crash has occurred at Willowbank Raceway, claiming the life of popular race car driver, Sam Fenech.

Fenech had travelled from New South Wales to participate in the New Year Nitro event at Willowbank Raceway when the crash occurred.

His car had reportedly skidded off the track and crashed. Fenech had sustained serious injuries, and despite the prompt medical attention, he didn’t survive.

Reports also reveal that a camera operator was also injured during the accident, but was taken to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Willowbank Raceway had released a statement, confirming the death of the race car driver.

“It is with great sadness that Top Fuel Racing Australia announces that Sam Fenech, driver of the Fabietti Racing Doorslammer, has succumbed to injuries suffered in a racing accident at Willowbank Raceway and passed away this evening,” the statement read.

Queensland Police have cordoned the area, as investigations are currently being conducted. Members of the public have been advised to avoid the location until further notice.
