State Rep. Quentin Williams was a Connecticut state lawmaker who was killed in a wrong-way crash involving two vehicles. Quentin “Q” Williams died at age 39.

The Connecticut state lawmaker was one of the two drivers killed in the fiery two-car crash which occured at 12:48 a.m. Thursday on Route 9 in Cromwell, legislators said.
According to State Police, Williams’ car was traveling in the left lane on the southbound side of Route 9 near exit 18 when a vehicle going north struck his car head on, leading to Williams’ car bursting into flames.

The other car was found in the grass center median. Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene, with the second driver yet to be identified.
Williams, 39, had attended the governor’s inaugural ball in Hartford and was returning home when he got invloved in the ghastly accident.
Williams had taken oath of office for his third term ( on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2023) the first day of the General Assembly session.
Due to his death, legislative business was canceled Thursday and Friday, including the organizational meeting of the Labor and Public Employees Committee, the panel that House Speaker Matt Ritter, D-Hartford, recently named him to co-chair.
