Lincoln Almond was an American attorney and politician. Lincoln Almond and his wife Marilyn Almond had two children.

Their son, Lincoln Douglas Almond, became a federal magistrate judge in Rhode Island. His daughter Amy Elizabeth Cubbage became a Medical Doctor.

Lincoln Almond passed away on January 2, 2023, at the age of 86. No cause of death was provided.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in science from the University of Rhode Island in 1959 and a Juris Doctorate from Boston University School of Law in 1961. Following that, he began working as an attorney in Rhode Island.

Lincoln Almond served as the United States Attorney for the District of Rhode Island from 1969 to 1978 and again from 1981 to 1993.

He made his name with a string of political indictments and drug convictions, including busting an extensive money laundering ring run for Colombian drug lords.

As the 72nd Governor of Rhode Island from 1995 to 2003, Almond expanded health care and daycare opportunities for children, boosted funding to update neglected state college campuses, and overhauled the state Department of Economic Development to help diversify the economy and bring tens of thousands of well-paying jobs to the state.
