The game was suspended with 5:58 remaining in the first quarter and was rescheduled shortly after 10 p.m., about one hour after Hamlin collapsed, by the NFL’s emergency-situation rules.

Tee Higgins, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, and Penn State University head coach James Franklin all expressed their condolences to Hamlin’s family.

The Buffalo Bills selected Hamlin in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh. In 2022, Hamlin has 92 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
