Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin fell on his and collapsed just moments after getting up from an open field tackle of Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins during the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2, 2023.

Bills team trainers treated Damar Hamlin within ten seconds of the collapse. According to an ESPN broadcast, an ambulance was brought onto the field in less than five minutes and he was given CPR.

“His heartbeat was restored on the field and he was transferred to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition,” the Bills said in a tweet early Tuesday, January 3 2023.
Following his collapse, fans began gathering outside the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center. The league is yet to provide an update or further details on Hamlin’s condition.
