Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, best known by her stage name Gangsta Boo, an American rapper, born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee has died. Gangsta Boo was born on August 7, 1979 and died on January 1, 2023. She was 43 years.

According to a report by Fox 13, Gangsta Boo was found dead on Sunday around 4 p.m. on. Circumstances leading to her death is yet to be disclosed.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, Gangsta Boo was the second female member (after K-9) of the Memphis-based hip hop group Three 6 Mafia.
However, around 2002, she departed the group and label after the release of her second album, Both Worlds *69.
Her departure from the group was due to monetary disputes and issues regarding her album’s promotion.

Gangsta Boo released her first solo album, Enquiring Minds in 1998 and reached number fifteen on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 46 on the Billboard 200. The album featured the surprise hit “Where Dem Dollas At!?”.

Her second album, Both Worlds *69, was released in 2001 and it reached number eight on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and number 29 on the Billboard 200.
Two years later, she released her third album, Enquiring Minds II: The Soap Opera, which peaked at number 53 on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and 24 on the Independent Albums chart.
On June 27, 2011, Boo released her mixtape with Trap-A-Holics, Forever Gangsta.
In 2013, she joined the Three 6 Mafia spin-off group Da Mafia 6ix, and was significantly featured on their debut mixtape 6ix Commandments.
On October 14, 2014, Gangsta Boo teamed up with BeatKing and released a collaborative mixtape, Underground Cassette Tape Music, Vol. 1.
In 2018, a successor mixtape titled Underground Cassette Tape Music, Vol. 2, was released.
She was featured on Run the Jewels’ fourth album, RTJ4, released in 2020, on the track “Walking in the Snow”.
Members of the rap community have taken to social media to pay tribute to Boo including DJ Paul, who posted a photo of her DJing without a caption.
In response to DJ paul’s post, rappers 2 Chainz, Ty Dolla $ign, Ludacris, Outkast’s Big Boi, Cypress Hill’s B-Real, and Lil Jon also posted their own tributes.
