John Cake is a Welsh musician, composer singer, songwriter and record producer, who was a founding member of the American rock band, Velvet Underground. Over his 6 decades, he worked in various styles across rock, drone, classical, avant-garde and electronic music.

On October 19, 2022, Cale released another new track, titled Story of Blood, featuring American chamber pop singer, Weyes Blood.

Both tracks are from his upcoming studio album titled Mercy. The album has been planned to be released in January 2023.
