Barbara Walters was a broadcast journalist and television personality from the United States.

Barbara Walters passed away peacefully in her home on December 30, 2022, according to her spokesperson. She was 93 years old.

Barbara Walters was born in the year 1929. In the early 1960s, Walters began her career on The Today Show as a writer and segment producer of women’s interest stories.

Because of her popularity with viewers, Walters received more airtime, and in 1974, she became the program’s co-host, the first woman to hold such a position on an American news programme.

Barbara Walters worked as a producer and co-host on the ABC newsmagazine 20/20 from 1979 to 2004. She was also well-known for her annual ABC special, Barbara Walters’ 10 Most Fascinating People.

Barbara Walters created, produced, and co-hosted the ABC daytime talk show The View, which she hosted from 1997 to 2014.

She went on to host several special reports for 20/20 as well as documentary series for Investigation Discovery. Her last appearance on ABC News was in 2015.

Walters received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007 after being inducted into the Television Hall of Fame in 1989. The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honoured her with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.
