Reports say he was driving a Mercedes when a car hit a divider on a highway. The police said he dozed off and lost control of the wheel. He managed to break a window and leave the car before it caught fire.

According to a statement by the Indian cricket board, he has two cuts on his forehead, a ligament tear in his right knee along with other injuries. The statement from the board also revealed that Rishabh hurt his right wrist, ankle, and toe and suffered abrasion injuries on his back.

The accident happened on December 30. He was going home in Roorkee when his BMW collided with a road divider on the Delhi-Dehradun highway.
