Solange married music video director Alan Ferguson in New Orleans on November 16, 2014. The couple separated in 2019. Solange Knowles married Daniel Smith in February 2004, but the two divorced in 2007.

Solange’s second studio album, Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams (2008), reached number nine on the US Billboard 200 and received positive reviews from critics.

Solange appeared in several music videos and made cameo appearances in the early 2000s. In 2001, she appeared as Lil’ Bow Wow’s date in the music video for his single “Puppy Love” and made an appearance on The Master of Disguise soundtrack.
