Demetrious Johnson was a National Football League (NFL) player from the United States (NFL).

Demetrious Johnson died on December 24, 2022, at the age of 61. Demetrious Johnson had been in the hospital for a week. At this time, the cause of death is unknown.

Demetrious Johnson was born in St. Louis and raised in the Darst-Webbe Housing Project. Johnson attended the University of Missouri, Columbia on a full athletic scholarship.

Johnson was recognised as a premier defensive back at Columbia, earning Big 8 All-Star honours. Johnson earned a bachelor’s degree in Education with a concentration in Counseling Psychology. Johnson was drafted by the Detroit Lions after graduating.

Johnson played professional football for five years. Johnson was the Lions’ defensive captain during his career and won numerous awards, including Player of the Week. Johnson’s professional football career came to an end with the Miami Dolphins in 1987.

Following his retirement from the NFL, Johnson worked as the National Sales Manager for the Athletic Sports Medicine Division for Sherwood Medical Company, which is now Covidien.
