Tory Lanez Found Guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020

On Friday, December 23 2022, a Los Angeles jury found rapper Tory Lanez guilty of three felonies in the 2020 shooting of hip-hop star Megan Thee Stallion, which left her with bullet fragments in her feet.

The jury of seven women and five men deliberated since Thursday, December 22 2022, before convicting Tory Lanez of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and gross negligence in the discharge of a firearm.

Jurors also agreed that the attack had aggravating factors, which means Lanez could face up to 22 years in prison and deportation when he is sentenced on January 25 2023.

Tory Lanez, who was handcuffed and led to jail while dressed in a powder pink coat and matching pants, made no visible reaction as the verdict was read aloud.

However, after the jury was led away, his father, Sonstar Peterson, jumped to his feet and yelled, “This wicked system stands judged before God almighty!” as deputies surrounded him. Deputies wrestled him out of the courtroom and into the hallway, where he yelled.
