Why did Eagles trade for Gardner Minshew?
Gardner Minshew was traded by the Jacksonville Jaguars to the Philadelphia Eagles in the last days of August 2021 and the deal saw an exchange for a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The reason why the Philadelphia Eagles got Gardner Minshew from the Jacksonville Jaguars was because of the immediate release of Nick Mullens who was not impressive during the pre-season.
With Nick Mullens being a quarterback, the Philadelphia Eagles saw that Gardner Minshew would be a perfect replacement for Nick and thus they traded for Gardner.
