Neil Simon was born to Mamie Simon and Irving Simon in The Bronx, New York, on July 4, 1927, and died in the NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Emergency Room, New York, on August 26, 2018, at the age of 91 years as a result of pneumonia and kidney failure.

Neil Simon was survived by his wife and his three children called Nancy Simon, Ellen Simon, and Bryn Simon.
