Who was the obituary for at the end of Vera?

Mark Allen, who was a crew member of the show for eight years passed away in April 2021. The show wrote down a tribute to him in the closing credits of the episode which aired on Sunday 5 September 2021.

There was a black screen with a tribute that read;

“Dedicated to the memory of Mark Allen 1962-2021.”

Mark Allen was a painter on the show who worked diligently for eight years in the art department to make sure the film was filled with its appropriate colors. He was born in Durham, the same place some of the shorts in the series were filmed. In his hometown, he was also known for fixing things like billboards and other paintings in his locality. Allen was not an on-screen member, however, he played integral roles in the film industry. He worked for the art departments of Inspector George Gently and other movies including An Inspector Calls.
