Lindy Heymann is a British director and assistant director. Lindy Heymann was the wife of Terry Hall, the frontman for the Specials, one of the most influential British new wave bands of the 1980s.

Lindy Heymann has worked on films such as Showboy (2002), The Laughing King (2016), and Kicks (2009).

Showboy, Lindy Heymann’s feature film debut, earned her a BIFA for Best Directorial Debut (2002). She also directs music videos and commercials and has collaborated with a variety of artists.

Recently completed projects include videos for Chase & Status, Imelda May, Keane, and Take That, as well as a live concert DVD for The Specials, which was nominated for a UK Music Video Award.

It was announced in August 2019 that she would be directing a biopic titled ‘4real’ about Richey Edwards of Manic Street Preachers.

Terry Hall passed away on 19 December 2022, after a brief illness, according to his bandmates. He was 63 years old at the time.

The Specials, who formed in 1977 in Coventry, England, achieved success in the late 1970s and early 1980s with their debut self-titled album.

The Specials is considered a landmark recording, appearing on Pitchfork’s list of the Best Albums of the 1970s and on NME’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
