Tom Browning Cause of Death

Tom Browning, a one-time All-Star and World Series champion with the Cincinnati Reds in 1990, died on December 19, 2022. He was 62.

Officers responded to a call to Browning’s home in Union after receiving a report of a man who was not breathing, according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Responding officers identified the man as Browning, according to authorities. On his couch inside the house, the retired pitcher was unresponsive.

“Deputies, along with E.M.S. personnel, attempted life saving measures. However, resuscitation efforts were not successful.

Mr. Browning was pronounced deceased at approximately 1:13 p.m.,” the Boone County Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities said no foul play was suspected.

The Reds confirmed Browning’s death as well. “The entire Reds family is stunned and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tom Browning,” the team said.”

“Affectionately referred to as ‘Mr. Perfect,’ Tom was a true Red who after his playing made the Cincinnati area his home and remained heavily involved within the organization.”

“A fan favorite, the Reds Hall of Famer touched fans’ hearts at team events, Reds Hall of Fame festivities and Reds Community Fun activities.”
