Arthur Ray Briles is an American football coach who is presently the head coach of the Guelfi Firenze in the Italian Football League.

Briles was the head coach of the Houston Cougars from 2002 to 2007, then the Baylor Bears from 2008 to 2015.
Briles has agreed to return to coach the Guelfi Firenze in the Italian Football League for the 2022 season.
Briles guided the squad to a 6-2 regular season and three playoff wins (9-2 overall) before defeating the Milano Seamen 21-17 in the 41st Italian Bowl championship game on July 2, 2022.

Art Briles Parents: Meet Wanda Briles, Dennis Briles
In 1976, an automobile tragedy claimed the lives of Art Briles’ parents, Dennis and Wanda, as well as his aunt Elsie Kittley, as they were traveling to see Art play in his game.
In his story, Briles claims that his dad and aunt departed Rule around 8 a.m. in Dennis’ beige Ford LTD but never made it even halfway to Dallas.
On Highway 380, as they neared a hill, a tanker truck trying to pass another truck crossed into their lane.
They died instantly when the tanker truck collided head-on with their automobile. The truck driver sustained a broken arm. No charges at any were ever brought.
