Paul Kitching Partner: Who is Katie O’Brien?

Katie O’Brien was the partner of Paul Kitching,  a Michelin-starred chef.  Paul and his  partner, Katie O’Brien, have over 60 years of restaurant experience between them.

In 2009, the couple relocated to Scotland’s capital city, where they opened 21212, a five-star restaurant with rooms.

Since its inception, the restaurant has received numerous accolades, including best new restaurant in the UK, a Michelin star between 2009 and 2019, four AA rosettes, and the title of Catering in Scotland’s Restaurant of the Year.

Paul and Katie previously owned Juniper in Greater Manchester. Juniper has received accolades and praise from both chefs and critics.

It was the only 4AA rosette restaurant in the North West and the only Michelin-starred restaurant in Greater Manchester.

It was also named England’s Restaurant of the Year and ranked among the top 20 restaurants in The Good Food Guide.

Paul Kitching died tragically at the age of 61, on Wednesday, December 14th 2022, according to his devastated partner Katie O’Brien.

In an email sent out to customers of their popular restaurant, Katie described Paul’s death as a ‘total shock’.
