Chris Beard is an American basketball coach. He is currently the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Texas at Austin.

The Georgia native Beard graduated from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas. He then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas in 1995 and received a Master of Education from Abilene Christian University, where he served as a graduate assistant in 1998.

On April 1, 2021, Chris Beard was hired as the 25th head coach at the University of Texas.

Prior to joining the University of Texas as head coach, he served as the head coach for the South Carolina Warriors (2011–2012), McMurry University (2012–2013), Angelo State (2013–2015), Arkansas–Little Rock (2015–2016) and Texas Tech University (2016–2021).
