Born on December 21, 1997, in Birmingham, Alabama, Williams played high school football at Wenonah High School and had his collegiate career at Alabama.
He ranked 17th on the list of best defensive tackle in America as of 2016.
In 2018, Williams won the Outland Trophy and the Bill Willis Trophy.
In 2019, Williams was selected by the New York Jets as 3rd overall pick in the NFL draft, and signed a four-year contract worth $32.5 million with the team
