Steve Martin does not have dementia. However, Martin has tinnitus, which was initially attributed to the filming of a pistol-shooting scene for Three Amigos in 1986, but Martin later clarified that the tinnitus was caused by years of listening to loud music and performing in front of loud crowds .

Steve Martin has received five Grammy Awards, one Primetime Emmy Award, and an Honorary Academy Award in 2013.
