Robbie Lawler, who is a former UFC Welterweight champion, was forced to withdraw from a bout against  Santiago Ponzinibbio on Saturday, December 10, 2022, because he had an undisclosed injury, according to ESPN.

Lawler is set to finish the 2022 season with just one appearance which was not victorious. He lost against Bryan Barberena in July. He has lost five out of the last six bouts against well-experienced fighters. These fighters include; Neil Magny, Colby Covington, Ben Askren, and Rafael Dos Anjos.
