Tracy Hitchings was a former lead vocalist for the English progressive rock band Landmarq.

Tracy Hitchings was born in Wallington, London, and raised in St Mawes, Cornwall, before returning to London at the age of 20.

Tracy Hitchings joined Landmarq in 1998 and released the vocally focused album Science of Coincidence.

Thunderstruck, the band’s live album, was released the following year. They released the rare EP Aftershock in 2002. Turbulence-Live in Poland was the band’s second live album, released in 2006.

Her musical career spanned 1989 to 2022, with numerous notable sessions with various bands and artists, primarily in the British neo-progressive rock scene.

Tracy Hitchings died on December 10, 2022, according to a post on the band’s Facebook page.

“We have to report with a heavy heart and great sadness that our dear friend Tracy Hitchings has passed away after a long illness.

“Her sixtieth birthday had only recently passed… Tracy was a remarkable artist and a lovely person. She was a valued member of Landmarq for over two decades, contributing uniquely and significantly to the band as vocalist and lyricist.

“She leaves a fantastic legacy of songs that will undoubtedly live on.” Funeral arrangements for Tracy Hitchings have nor been made public.
