At the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, Dalton was named ‘Male Breakout Star.’

The character was developed by Joss Whedon, Jed Whedon, and Maurissa Tancharoen and performed by Brett Dalton from the pilot episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in September 2013 to the fourth season in April 2017.

Grant Ward debuted in the December 2015 issue of All-New, All-Different Marvel Point One #1, created by Marc Guggenheim and German Peralta.

He can be seen collaborating with Phil Coulson to infiltrate Gorgon’s Hydra.

Is Grant Ward actually Hydra?

Dalton pointed out that even though it was ultimately discovered that Ward was a Hydra imposter, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the bonds he formed with his S.H.I.E.L.D. team weren’t genuine.

After all, going undercover meant that Ward had to lower his guard in order to gain their trust, which allowed him to open up to those bonds despite his true intentions.
