Illinois State Senator Scott Bennett died after suffering from brain tumor complications, on December 9, 2022. He was aged 45.

His death was confirmed by his wife, Stacy, via an offical statement.
Tributes have poured in from across the globe, with Rep. Jehan Gordon Booth describing Bennett’s demise as ‘an unexpected tragedy’.
Funeral arrangements for the late politician will be communicated to the public in due time.

Who Was Scott M. Bennett?
Scott Bennett was an American senator and a member of the Democratic Party, representing Illinois Senate 52nd district.

Born in 1977, in Gibson City, Illinois, Bennett attended Illinois State University and University of Illinois Urbana Champaign law school.
He had previously served as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Champaign County, and a prosecutor with the Office, before he emerged Senator in 2015.
Bennett was in charge of Central Illinois, which covers Champaign, Danville, Georgetown, Gifford, Rantoul, Thomasboro and Urbana.
During the 102nd General Assembly, Bennett served in several Senate committees.
He is survived by his wife Stacy Bennett and two children.
